Here’s a CTV article on the fallout from the meeting regarding the Hartland Landfill site for the sludge plant: http://vancouverisland.ctvnews.ca/video?clipId=972562&binId=1.1180928&playlistPageNum=1
I attended most of the meeting with the wastewater committee at the CRD yesterday. It was a very interesting meeting that had the committee members arguing about the formula of how each community was going to be assessed for various charges. After that, the arguments started regarding the suitability of Hartland as a site. You can read in the Times Colonist today on the front page about the meeting. From the perspective of the Willis Point community, we were talked about several times in that if the CRD did go ahead with the Hartland site, Willis Point needed to be consulted regarding the plan – and not treated like Esquimalt – a very interesting perspective.
