A short article appeared in the Victoria Times Colonist on November 21st, 2012. The article is regarding the new truck and apparatus building.
A new two-bay fire hall planned for Willis Point will provide room for a new pumper truck expected to be purchased within the next year.
There are two fire hall buildings at Willis Point, west of Brentwood Bay. One will remain and the other will come down.
A new 1,600-square-foot building is planned, said Malcolm Cowley, manager of engineering design for the Capital Regional District. An invitation to tender for construction of the pre-engineered steel building closes Dec. 5. A mandatory site meeting will be held on Nov. 26.
A Fire Underwriters Survey said Willis Point must upgrade with a new pumper truck. There are no fire hydrants at Willis Point.
