Burning Permits and Restrictions

Outdoor Burning

Summer Fire Restrictions

Willis Point is at risk from wildfires during the summer months — report any fire or smoke immediately by calling 9-1-1.

No Open Burning from July 1 – September 30

Outdoor fires, including campfires, require a valid permit and are subject to BC Forestry closures at any time. Open air burning is also prohibited on Canada Day, BC Day and Labour Day holidays.

Please check with local fire department for other closures and restrictions before lighting any fire or using equipment in and around forest areas.

Permits are often not required from October 1 to April 15 of each year but this decision is left up to the discretion of the Fire Chief.

Permits can be obtained free of charge by attending in person to the Willis Point Fire Hall on Wednesdays from 7 to 9pm.
